1st field campaign

In the Blueforesting project, we want to map the marine forests, distribution including kelps, and local climate variations. We will do this mapping using drones and in situ temperature loggers for the intertidal area. For our first sampling campaign, Blueforesting teams were at the field to evaluate the best locations and place the loggers in the Ascophyllum nodosum region. This will allow to confirm and validate the values registered by the drones. The loggers will also allow monitoring, with precision, the temperature fluctuation in the presence and absence of the forests and the occurrence of upwelling on the rocky shore of Northern Portugal.
